Training camp testimonials

I always strive to organise training camps where players learn, hit a lot of balls and have a positive experience. Here some feedback from players who have attended my training camps…

What did you like about the training camp?

You and your team. The level was high of the participants and it made moving round easy. The techniques were well demonstrated. Good having views of all coaches and demonstrated well. Good balance of drill demo not being rushed and time doing it. Your help and the team coming round with each drill with comments guaranteed for each one made it the best camp ever.

The specific focus of the course. The way the course built from day 1 to day 5. The quality of coaching. The relatively small group and high coach ratio. Only having one demo at a time to then go and practice. The match conditions related to the drills/skills we were working on, very creative!

The excellent organisation and structured approach that ensures that every part of the day is used well. Great coaches , friendliness and encouragement and always a lot of fun and you come away having learnt so much.

I thought it was well organised and ran smoothly. It was good spirited with a fun atmosphere but also well focused on specific drills to improve us. Also having the videos of the demos is a brilliant resource. It’s a good venue and easy to get to. Having yourself, Ferenc and Charlotte as coaches was superb and encouraging. The warm ups and warm downs were great to survive the week. I was recovering from a sprained ankle coming in to the camp but it held up OK and I think this was due to all the stretching etc.

Professional, welcoming, organised, manageable numbers, great location, great facilities, excellent training plan – what was not to like!

The training camp was friendly & informal, with a very good atmosphere. It was also well structured throughout the course. The course catered well for all age groups and abilities. Your rapport with everyone was excellent, helping players as and when required. The other two coaches were supportive and encouraging. The venue was also good, including food and drink available downstairs in the foyer.

Simple, clear drills and exercises, the chance to work on improving key shots and thinking about our A and B games. Loved the good atmosphere and camaraderie. Enjoyed the gentle competitive element.

The specific focus of the course itself, the quality of teaching, application to “our local league level of play”, and follow up drills, tasks or match play, positive style of coaching from all 4 coaches, fairly close ability level of attendees seemed (with the frequent partner changes) to negate the need for ability groups , my perception was that we all received a fair amount of personal input from the coaches rather than thinking the better players were receiving a disproportionate amount of input, the motivation and focus of attendees from so many counties across UK and countries across the world!

The didactical style of all coaches. 4 days and only one topic. The 3 minute games and no real matches. I left the training camp very positive. I do not like those training camps where they organize real competition during the last afternoon. That does not help my confidence when I have to go home with many defeats.

Great course just what I needed more of the tactics of playing the game. I enjoyed meeting different people from various countries with different styles of TT. Also being able to interact with Top table tennis players and of course meeting you TOM 🙂
