Push and loop training drill

Subscribe  Online coaching

In this video, I share a training drill to help you switch from a push to a loop.

You serve backspin. Your partner returns with a backhand push. You then play backhand push to backhand push, until your partner switches the ball to your forehand. You then open up with a forehand loop and play out the point.

This is a useful drill to practice your forehand loop opening attack.

The footage was filmed at the Bryant & Gertsen training camp at Plymouth Table Tennis Club in October 2021.

The instructor is Stephen Gertsen. Craig Bryant and Paul Whiting are doing the demonstration. All three are excellent coaches and all former international players.
